Intraoperative photo of filum lysis (filum terminale detethering ...
I had my filum lysis (detethering) surgery on December 12th. Here is a picture from the surgery, along with my explanation. Intraoperative picture of tight filum terminale before cutting. Surgery saved him but the consequences on his quality of life are terrible. He is partially compensated by this victory against INAIL (the Italian Labour Insurance) that recognizes the 80% of disability caused by his occupation. This is the first time a judge has recognized the causal link and the subsequent declaration of disability due to occupational exposure to EMFs. » Low Dose Heparin and the PTT
Though largely replaced by low molecular weight heparin, low-dose unfractionated heparin is effective at preventing thrombosis associated with orthopedic surgery, obstetric conditions, trauma surgery, and inflammatory medical conditions. Because low dose unfractionated heparin is not associated with bleeding risk, there is no requirement for monitoring. If monitoring is desired, the anti-Xa heparin assay provides a more sensitive means than the PTT, and the target range is about 0.2 anti-Xa units/mL. Bolan CD, Kelin HG. It is unclear, at the conclusion of the procedure, whether her abdominal pain would recur. Secondly, I felt that the gastric pouch revision was fraught with potential life style changes and potential complications which the patient may not have desired and because there was no [more...]
