One evening in July of 2009, she discovered a small lump in her breast. Thankfully it was palpable and undeniably present. After discovering the lump, she began what was to be a solid 9 months of aggressive surgery and treatments. October 7, 2010 Stars from UK soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale came out to help the Blossom Appeal celebrate its 10th Anniversary at a glittering Gala Dinner event held at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on Saturday 2nd October. Nicola Wheeler (Emmerdale’s Nicola De Souza), Sacha Parkinson (Sian Powers from Coronation Street) and Brooke Vincent (Corrie’s Sophie Webster) all helped the charity commemorate ten years of fund-raising to support the Breast Care Unit at North Manchester General Hospital.
