Note the following modifications from standard trabeculectomy: - triangular, short scleral flap: small wound area reduced risk of failure from fibrosis and allows easy laser suture lysis - AC is entered in the clear cornea, no iridectomy is necessary - small conjunctival incision: good exposure during surgery, no corneal traction suture needed; easy water tight closure using only two 10-0 nylon wing sutures Instruments used: rigid 67 blade, Blumenthal conjunctival dissector, MMC 0.4 mg/ml x 3 minutes, Kelly punch.
