Maximize Your Skin Results With Black Skin Care Products
Black skin has ready made sun protection factor (SPF) which is about four to five times stronger than the typical SPF for white skin. This reduces the aging effect of the sun. This means when it comes to black skin care product or an African American skin care product, you may be less likely to look for anti-aging products as early as a person possessing lighter skin. It’s also a good idea to explore the Black Skin Care Products for general skin care early on. While the aging process is delayed, good early skin care is always a bonus. Well nourished skin is more resistant to the ravages of [more...]

Retinoids for Wrinkles and Aging Skin | Beauty and Health Answers
There are three prescription retinoids: tretinoin (brands include Atralin, Avita, Retin-A, Retin-A Micro, Renova), tazarotene (Avage, Tazorac), and adapalene (Differin). Tazarotene is the strongest while adapalene is the gentlest. Renova is good for dry skin as it is emollient based. Differin is suitable for people with sensitive skin because it is gentle. Anti-Aging Benefits of Retinoids Retinoids stimulate collagen production and speed cell turnover. Lutrario, a veteran beauty chemist who has worked for Chanel, Elizabeth Arden and Avon, says in her opinion, moisturization is key to creating healthy, glowing skin. “What many people don’t understand is the majority of water that is in our skin comes from the environment. Our skin is actually the body’s largest living organ and it acts in a very sophisticated way. “Many consumers think if you drink glasses and glasses of water, you’ll hydrate your skin. Yes, a small percentage of it will make it to your skin, but the vast majority comes from outside. That’s why I say it [more...]

Dry Skin and Zits
For some reason, while we were gone, my face got really dry. It seemed like no matter how much moisturizer I put on it, it was still dry. It just soaked up the moisturizer and wanted more. It's not like we were in the desert or it was winter. Actually, usually my hands get really dry in the winter, but my face isn't too bad. I can't recall my face ever being that dry - except for that time I started using a Sensitive Skin cleanser that dried my face out so bad it hurt. This time I wasn't using anything different from what I normally use at home. Maybe it was the water there? [more...]

Six things to know about our Asian skin | Viva Woman
Since my last entry about Asian skin being less prone to getting sunburn, I’ve found more information about Asian skin type that might interest some of you. Keen to find out? Here goes: 1. Asian skin is more prone to sensitivity Our skin is said to be prone to irritation as we have a thinner stratum corneum or the outermost layer of skin, compared to other ethnic groups. As a result, our skin becomes extremely sensitive to environmental factors and chemicals, which can disrupt the skin’s pH balance (source: Dr Anthony Rawlings). This means: we need to be careful with what products and [more...]

Renova vs Retin-A Micro vs Retin-A
For acne, some people do better on Differin, and some do better on Retin-A Micro. The reason I wanted to try Renova is because I wanted to see if it works better on my wrinkles than Differin. I have yet to find any studies that say how well Differin works on wrinkles, and if it does reduce them, I wanted to see if Renova was even better. From what I’ve concluded, most doctors believe Differin does work on wrinkles, but that a tretinoin like Renova may work better. Conclusion Renova, Retin-A, Retin-A Micro and Differin all come in different strengths, so talk to your doctor about what [more...]

Get Rid Of Bags | Learn the method of removing eyebags. » Blog ...
I like to blend it with Neutrogena Healthy Skin eye cream for added moisturizing and anti-aging benefits. Rating: 4 / 5 L. Deneen Says: August 8th, 2010 at 7:21 am I really, really like this eye cream. I use it before putting on concealor to moisturize my eye area and to help with my (slightly) dark circles and puffiness. This works really good and is fairly inexpensive compared to other eye creams. The one thing I really like about this is that it isn’t very oily. I’m 23, and tend to break out fairly easily, and this moisturizes without leaving my eye area oily or clogging my pores. [more...]

Makeup Bag 101 | The Wendy Williams Show
Toss-it: Liquid eyeliners, three months; cream eye shadows, six months; pencil eyeliners and powder eye shadows, two years Insider info: As they do with mascara, bacteria tend to flourish in liquid-eyeliner tubes, and the product dries out. Pencil eyeliners have a longer shelf life because you can create a fresh, clean surface each time you sharpen them. Powder shadows, like pressed powders, are less prone to contamination because they, too, lack water. Lip Makeup: Toss-it: Lipstick and gloss, two years; lipliner, two years or more Insider info: Lipsticks’ water content makes them [more...]
