Peptides: Beauty Secret To Wrinkle-Free Skin? - Beauty News ...
We get to the bottom of peptides with the help of renowned dermatologist Dr. David Bank. Photo: iStock.com New ingredients continue to emerge every year, each one with claims loftier than the one before about how they will restore skin to its smooth, wrinkle-free toddler state. And I have always been very willing to offer myself up as a skincare guinea pig. Peptides may not be a new ingredient, but after slathering on many products, which they feature heavily in over the past few months, I have found myself impressed by their skin-transforming abilities. Blogdorf Goodman: Blessed Are The Pure of Skin
After applying the softner in the evening, I use a perscription Tazorac cream on my cheeks and chin where I am trying to refine the texture of my skin. I find the Tazorac works well with the Shiseido Pureness Blemish Clearing Gel applied to active pimples. With these products, active outbreaks are very rare. I make sure to use fresh pillow cases (one day per side, then in the laundry basket they go) and hold the phone away from my chin to prevent irritation. I also try to drink 8 glasses/bottles of water per day. If I eat salty foods, I increase my water intake more to compensate. Shiseido [more...]

Six things to know about our Asian skin | Viva Woman
Since my last entry about Asian skin being less prone to getting sunburn, I’ve found more information about Asian skin type that might interest some of you. Keen to find out? Here goes: 1. Asian skin is more prone to sensitivity Our skin is said to be prone to irritation as we have a thinner stratum corneum or the outermost layer of skin, compared to other ethnic groups. As a result, our skin becomes extremely sensitive to environmental factors and chemicals, which can disrupt the skin’s pH balance (source: Dr Anthony Rawlings). This means: we need to be careful with what products and [more...]

Moisturize Your Skin | Mens Moisturizer
Mature skin is also most of the time dry because glands that secrete oil become obsolete or stops functioning. So a heavy oil based moisturizer is preferred when dealing with mature or old aged types. Oily skin is another type. People with oily skin are very prone to getting acne or any skin disease. A light water based product is perfect for oily skin. However, I suggest having a product which has a label that says "noncomedogenic" which basically means, it won' clog spores. Clogged spores can cause acne and it can also cause the skin to break out which will damage the skin more rather than [more...]

Pencil eyeliners have a longer shelf life because you can create a fresh, clean surface each time you sharpen them. Powder shadows, like pressed powders, are less prone to contamination because they, too, lack water. Lip Makeup: Toss-it: Lipstick and gloss, two years; lipliner, two years or more Insider info: Lipsticks’ water content makes them [more...]
