Hands down, one of the best things I have ever bought in college is Downy Wrinkle Releaser. Slide the shirt onto a hanger and simply spray the desired wrinkled shirt with the Wrinkle Releaser, give it a good shake, maybe lay it flat and smooth the wrinkles out for a bit, let it hang for maybe five or ten minutes, and the wrinkles should have disappeared from the shirt. On this particular car I decided to experiment a bit with the paint and go for more of an OEM style finish. My paint guy hooked me up with this cool black paint that when dry, perfectly replicates the factory wrinkle finish. I sprayed the whole cover with primer beforehand. This is an up close shot so you can get an idea of the textured surface. You will notice that all the lettering on the valve cover has been painted over. At the factory this would have been placed in a mill and resurfaced but you can do the same thing with a sanding block or block of wood wrapped in sandpaper. [more...]

Remember when I was raving about this? Well as it turns out, our wallets are a bit too stingy to fork over the cash for such a convenience. After a few days of suffering from wrinkled clothes, and a lack of desire to iron, I decided there had to be a compromise. Home-Made Wrinkle Release. I discovered all I needed was a little of this: And a lot of this: The Recipe? Take your empty DWR bottle (or other similar bottle). Add 1/4 C.
