Everybody who owns a laptop has, at one time or another, gotten the urge to remove that laptop from their lap. “The burning…the BURNING!” only to find out that they are not, themselves, on fire. But what happens when you repeatedly use your laptop in the same spot consistently for days, weeks, months on end? News has filtered through today, of reports of some laptop users experiencing what has been named “toasted skin syndrome“. This is mainly due to the device being placed on their lap for continuous amounts of time, and the heat causing discolouration or mottling of the skin. Yesterday we reported about the case of a 12-year-old boy who suffered from a condition called “Toasted Skin Sydrome”, which was caused by having a laptop on his skin for hours at a time. We all know how hot a laptop gets, and I would never have one on my lap with nothing on my legs for a prolonged amount of time.You can be certain that there will be parents out there who will feel like this is a case to be taken to the courts to try to get compensation from the laptop maker.
