The Backpacking Trip 1993-1995

CARDIFF The idea first surfaced, as all the best ones do, over a few beers one night in the summer of 1992. You know the ones that seem a little more complicated the next morning. The only difference being was that we were very keen on this particular idea, which rapidly developed into determination and gave us the opportunity to live out our dreams. Eventually we got the ball rolling … Having known each other for only six months this seemed a big step for us – to be planning a trip that would begin a year from then! We were no longer interested in doing anything else, this was going to [more...]

Why does my dog have skin problems? - - Questions & Answers ...

My dog breaks out on his leg every summer. It looses hair and then it is bumpy, red, and sometimes drains. In the winter it clears completely up and goes away. Would Neem skin oil be a good choice to fight this? We have taken him to the Vet and he was put on antibiotics that helped but now it is still itchy. They want to do tests for mange but our other dogs do not suffer from this condition. Please advise. By: Vetinfo El Segundo, CA Replied on 9/29/2010 To answer your direct question, neem oil may help this issue if you apply it to the skin before it is broken. Do not apply the neem oil to [more...]

Puppies developing raised bumps on their skin - - Questions ...

my puppies are five weeks old..some of them are developing raised bumps on their skin that are rather large ... it doesn't seem to be uncomfortable. what do i do? By: Vetinfo El Segundo, CA Replied on 9/29/2010 These bumps may be benign masses that young dogs can get which are conglomerations of immune cells under the skins. Masses of this sort will usually go away in a week or two. The most prudent plan would be to take one or all of them to your veterinarian. He or she may be able to diagnose the problem just by seeing the masses, or may need to take a needle biopsy to obtain some cells [more...]

extremely red, raw skin | Roaccutane for non inflammatory acne

At the top of my forehead I have quite a big, red RAW skin patch that literally appeared after I came out the shower this morning. The skin was obviously really dry and is now weepy, red and raw. It’s like a  bad burn. I have been in tears over it this morning as I am so self conscious of it and I don’t know what to do. I am terrified of it becoming infected and I have no idea if I should apply any cream onto it or not. Any ideas? On top of that I can feel a big spot brewing on my forehead too, rubbish This entry was posted on Sunday, July 18th, 2010 at 9:49 am and is filed under [more...]

Healing Red Clover and Lavender Skin Salve « Nourishing Words

Making a skin salve, using infused oil and beeswax, is a simple kitchen process. It would be fine to use the oils directly on the skin, but a salve is more portable, and a little neater to apply. Round metal tins or tiny glass jars are easily available at most healthfood stores. The whole process took less than a half hour. 1/2 cup infused red clover oil 1/2 cup infused lavender oil 1 to 2 ounces of beeswax Warm the oil in a small saucepan over very low heat. Add beeswax, stirring to dissolve. The more beeswax you add, the harder the salve will be when it cools. For my batch of salve, I [more...]
