Starlux 1540 Fractional Non Ablative Treatment – Laser Scar ...

Cuts, bruises, acne, burns and surgery can all leave scars that can cause some to be self conscious or ashamed of their skin. Surgery and Laser skin resurfacing can help the presence of scars, but they can still leave marks and divots in the skin. What are Scars? A scar is caused by damage to the skin dermis, the deep layer of skin beneath the surface. If the dermis cannot regenerate itself completely, a depression exists in the skin which makes a scar. Injuries or minor cuts only affect the epidermis, the surface of the skin, and that it why they usually heal without a scar. When a visible [more...]

Laser Hair Removal – How to Minimise Pain

You can ask your laser technician to use some numbing cream on the area before the procedure. This is a topical anaesthesia that only works on the surface of the skin but it has proven to be very effective in relieving some of the discomfort. Cooling Tip For very sensitive skin, the laser technician can use a cooling tip. This goes on the tip of the laser and reduces the heat the patient feels during the procedure, reducing pain. It also prevents any skin damage forming as a result. These are the main ways you can make the whole process more relaxing on yourself and protect your skin from [more...]

Natural Remedies for Sciatica | ANTI AGING SKIN CREAMS

Numbness or muscle weakness in either buttock or leg can be a sign of sciatica. Pain in the hip, lower back or legs that increases after standing or sitting for some time is another symptom. Anyone who has difficulty moving or controlling their legs or feels a tingling sensation of pins and needles up and down either leg should be examined for sciatica. Over the counter pain medications containing acedeminophin or aspirin are often helpful in treating sciatica. The application of ice packs over the area where the pain is the deepest can often reduce the inflammation. Some people find relief [more...]

Fade Away | Afrobella

Also, please note that the product is called whitening cream. Or “whitenizer.” I know that many of my Caucasian or lighter-complexioned friends have always used tanning oils, the stuff that turns their palms orange. But that stuff isn’t called “blackening cream” or “blackanizer,” right? No. Because that sounds like a product in a Dave Chappelle sketch. (on a personal note, I love Dave Chappelle. I wish he would just get a new show on HBO, already.) The whole industry of fade creams doesn’t sit right with me, for many reasons. That name on the label is just [more...]

You are going to put the Emla cream on the bit before you decide to have to have your port accessed and it’ll numb your skin. Most boobs cancer malignancy chemotherapy prescription drugs will result in your hair to fall out. This is since chemo kills the rapidly dividing cells inside your body. Topical anti-agers are big business these days—and why wouldn’t they be? The promise of looking younger without succumbing to procedures that plump and possibly freeze your face into soul-numbing submission is appealing to a whole lot of men and women (including us). We give a lot of play to anti-agers  in the book—everything from peptides to vitamin A to CoQ10 came under our loupe—but one of the most exciting discoveries was the documented power of topical vitamin C. Good old vitamin C! Something we already know is great for us on the inside has shown to do everything from stimulate [more...]

Scanorama

I think most kids with a port use a numbing cream or freeze spray before getting accessed. For some reason, Hans does not. Hans has had this port since he was four years old. He has never wanted any freeze spray or cream. He has always insists on taking it 'like a man"! On days like today when we are in an oncology clinic, Hans usually does really well. When we get accessed in the ER or, say, an ambulance, the accessing can go less well. Practice makes perfect. I think Hans is a pretty easy stick. We are kinda proud of him about this. Not usually a single tear. I'm just glad this doesn't have [more...]

For smaller skin tags, local anesthesia is unnecessary, but if they are large, it may be necessary to numb the area to dull the pain of surgery. If the skin tag is on the eyelid, the patient may have to consult an ophthalmologist, as the growth is in a very sensitive area and cannot be removed with normal dermatological means. Skin tags can also be removed without the help of a doctor. Sometimes they will fall off by themselves, while other times simply scratching the skin tag regularly can remove it. People can also take more drastic measures to remove skin tags, such as using scissors or a [more...]

Ultrasound Alternative to Facelift in Portland, Oregon | New Edge ...

What’s moving in? The newest advance in non-invasive tightening. What’s moving out? Surgery. At this year’s American Society of Laser Surgery and Medicine meeting, the big news was Ultherapy™ for skin tightening and lifting. Ultherapy is micro-focused ultrasound, the same safe ultrasound used to image babies or varicose veins, but the difference is that this ultrasound is focused. Imagine two microscopically small headlights aimed at each other. When the two paths cross, energy is produced. This is where tightening occurs. Now, imagine hundreds of invisible-to-the-eye micro-focused [more...]
