They may be accompanied by wrinkling, dryness, thinning of the skin, and rough spots. A number of treatments are available, including skin-lightening, or ""fade"" creams; cryotherapy (freezing); and laser therapy. Tretinoin cream is approved for reducing the appearance of darkened spots.
