Just wondering if anyone has had a problem with a wrinkle in/on their retina?  A family member has been diagnosed with it & I've heard of detached retina's but not wrinkled ones.  I did google it & it seems like it can vary considerably from being corrected or leaving 1 with some vision [more...]

Your dog's eyes are the vehicle in which they experience life

Lutein, an antioxidant, belongs to the carotenoid family, and is a highly concentrated in the macula, a small area of the retina that is responsible for central vision as well as high visual acuity. Your dogs eyes will benefit from the high levels of antioxidants such as these vitamins and minerals can provide. Your dog’s eyes are better at seeing peripherally than you are, but their close up vision is not quite as sharp as yours. The placement of eyes in dogs allows them better wide angle vision, but limits vision to depth perception and close up vision. This is caused by a minimal overlap [more...]

Neocell Blueberry Hyaluronic Acid Liquid Review & Giveaway | The ...

Hyaluronic acid (H.A.) is a protein that is generated naturally within our body and is more concentrated in areas that endure increased movement or have a higher fluid component such as the eyes, ears, heart and joints. As the aging process begins, production of this important lubricant slows, resulting in skin wrinkles, joint pain and other connective tissue complications. Hyaluronic Acid Blueberry Liquid, with the added benefits of powerful antioxidants pomegranate and green tea, is an all-natural, dietary supplement. Renova vs Retin-A Micro vs Retin-A

For acne, some people do better on Differin, and some do better on Retin-A Micro. The reason I wanted to try Renova is because I wanted to see if it works better on my wrinkles than Differin. I have yet to find any studies that say how well Differin works on wrinkles, and if it does reduce them, I wanted to see if Renova was even better. From what I’ve concluded, most doctors believe Differin does work on wrinkles, but that a tretinoin like Renova may work better. Conclusion Renova, Retin-A, Retin-A Micro and Differin all come in different strengths, so talk to your doctor about what [more...]

Funnel Vision

The light-sensitive cells in the retina -- rod-shaped cells, which can process very low levels of light, and cone-shaped cells, responsible for perceiving color -- pass their electrical signals along to neurons, lengthy cells which, when bundled together as the optic nerve, carry visual information deep into the brain. Strangely, the neurons which govern this delicate process lie in front of -- not behind -- the receiving rod and cone cells. Even though these neurons are transparent to light, their wrinkled shape distorts the light as it passes through on its way toward the rods and cones. [more...]

Larry King for Welch's (Well, he does look like a wrinkled grape)

Have you heard the radio ad with Larry King hawking Welch's Grape Juice? For a second I thought, "How brave of Larry to mention his special needs kid in the ad, the one who tells daddy he has a purple mustache." King is 72, so I figure his boy must be at least in his 30s. If I told my Dad I liked his juice-stache he'd look at me funny - which he does anyway. But this time I would deserve it. Then I find out the old codger King has a young wife and a toddler son. Now I'm creeped out. Viagra, what hath thou [more...]

Wrinkled Skin Can Be Controlled With Nanotechnology - Nanotechblog

The founder of Wrinkle-Free Nanomechanical Film, Ilsoon Lee states that sufficient concentration of nanoparticles might be beneficial in controlling wrinkles on the face. He says that the same principal behind the wrinkle free polymer film can be applied to human skin. Though skin is more complicated when compared with polymer films but the same principle could be implemented in cosmetics or an implantable device for preventing wrinkles on the face but before all this happens nanoparticles would have to get a clearance for toxicity so that people stay younger for a longer time. Via [more...]

Prayer Request

She referred me to the opthamologist and on Wednesday he took pictures of my retina, optic nerve, etc. He found nothing but thought my retina may be wrinkled, swollen or have a mucous membrane laying on it and he referred me to a retina specialist. While my eyes were still dilated, my husband drove me to the retina specialist where they took more pictures of my retina, took pressure readings with a hammer like probe, and finally saw the doctor. He further examined my eyes with his bright lights and magnifiers causing tears to stream. Then, he said, "I see what you are talking about." WOW! [more...]
