Rep. Buchanan Urges Swift DNA Tracking
voir la vidéoCongressman Vern Buchanan (FL-13) calls for greater federal efforts to update the nation's criminal DNA database used to identify and apprehend violent offenders. One possible approach, Buchanan said, is to make sure that the DNA of the most violent offenders is made available to law enforcement quicker than non-violent offenders. "The ones who represent the greatest threat should have their DNA coding made available ahead of the others," Buchanan said. This video clip is from a press conference held by Congressman Buchanan and joined by Manatee County Sheriff Brad Steube and Sarasota County Sheriff Tom Knight. [ go to Youtube.com ]

President Obama wants your DNA
voir la vidéoPresident Obama has thrown his support behind the idea of a national DNA database for anyone arrested inside the country. Regardless of whether youre convicted or charged with a crime, the President believes a national database will offer law enforcement agencies the best option to identify and learn about those arrested on US soil. Clearly, civil and criminal rights advocates are not pleased. Deborah Small is one of those opposed to the idea, and she joins Alyona from Vienna, Austria to discuss. [ go to Youtube.com ]
